Use OC Maker from MCP clients
Connect Claude, Cursor or any other MCP client to your OC Maker account. Ask your assistant to create, edit, upscale or cut out images, and it spends the same credits you use on the website.
1. Create an API key
- Sign in, then open Settings β API Keys.
- Enter a name (for example "Claude Desktop") and click Create key.
- Copy the key that starts with
ocm_. It is shown only once; if you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.
Your email must be verified. You can have up to 5 active keys, and you can revoke a key at any time; it stops working immediately.
2. Connect your client
The server address is https://ocmaker.art/api/mcp/. Keep the trailing slash. Every request must carry your key in the header Authorization: Bearer <your key>. Replace YOUR_API_KEY below.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http ocmaker https://ocmaker.art/api/mcp/ \ --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the project's .cursor/mcp.json):
{
"mcpServers": {
"ocmaker": {
"url": "https://ocmaker.art/api/mcp/",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" }
}
}
}Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop connects to remote servers with a small bridge. Install Node.js, then add this to claude_desktop_config.json and restart the app:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ocmaker": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y", "mcp-remote", "https://ocmaker.art/api/mcp/",
"--header", "Authorization:${OCMAKER_AUTH}"
],
"env": { "OCMAKER_AUTH": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" }
}
}
}Other clients
Any client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP with custom headers works: use the address above and the Authorization header. Clients that only offer a "sign in with OAuth" button (for example ChatGPT) are not supported yet.
Available tools
| Tool | What it does | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| upload_image | Upload an image file and get back a URL the other tools can use | Free |
| generate_image | Create an image from text, or edit / restyle images you pass in (GPT Image 2.5 or Nano Banana 2) | By model and resolution |
| remove_background | Cut out the background and return a transparent PNG | Fixed |
| upscale_image | Make an image sharper and larger | Fixed |
| get_task | Check a running task and get the finished image URLs | Free |
| get_balance | Show your remaining credits | Free |
Image tasks take a little while. The assistant starts a task, then checks get_task until the picture is ready. If a task fails, your credits are refunded automatically.
Example
Once connected, just talk to your assistant:
- "How many OC Maker credits do I have left?"
- "Generate a watercolor fox in a snowy forest, 3:2."
- "Take this photo, remove the background, then upscale it." (attach the image)
- "Make the same picture again but at dusk."
For a local image, the assistant first uploads it, then uses the returned link. Only JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 10 MB are accepted. The tools only accept images that were uploaded this way or produced by OC Maker, not arbitrary web links.
Credits and limits
- MCP uses the same credit balance as the website. Buy credits or subscribe on the pricing page.
- Every start-a-task call tells the assistant how many credits were charged and what is left.
- Some models and resolutions unlock after your first purchase, the same as on the website.
- Each key can make up to 60 calls per minute, including status checks.
- Retries of the same request (using an idempotency key) are not charged twice.
Troubleshooting
401 / Invalid or revoked API key
The key is wrong, was revoked, or the Authorization header is missing. Create a new key and update the client configuration.
403 / verify your email
Verify your email on ocmaker.art, then try again.
Insufficient credits
Your balance is too low for that call. Top up on the pricing page.
Invalid image
Pass a URL returned by upload_image or by an earlier OC Maker task. Other links are rejected.
Too many requests
You hit the per-minute limit. Wait a moment; assistants should wait at least 3 seconds between status checks.
The client cannot connect
Check that the address ends with a slash and that the header is exactly "Authorization: Bearer <key>".
Security
- Treat your key like a password: anyone with it can spend your credits. Do not paste it into chats or commit it to a repository.
- Create a separate key for each client so you can revoke one without affecting the others.
- OC Maker stores only a hash of your key, so we cannot show it again.
- If a key leaks, revoke it in Settings β API Keys right away.
